I am trying to start out running on my days in between calisthenics.
I run 2 days a week and around 3 miles.
Once again I am suffering from shin pain. I have had this a few times before and have stopped running for a few months each time to heal.
is there anything I can do to prevent this or strengthen my shins?
Shin splits are inevitable for new runners the same way that muscle soreness is when you’re new to calisthenics. If you’re dedicated and not overzealous, it should get better in time.
You might be able to minimize your shin splits by improving your technique, however. Here’s an article that might be helpful for you:
