Hello! I want to start doing Al’s 5×5 Bodyweight Beginner Calisthenics Workout. I’ve watched the YouTube video and I understand the exercises involved. I just don’t understand the 5×5 part… that is, I don’t know what it means!
Do I do 5 repetitions of each of the 5 exercises in sequence – 5 Australian Pull-Ups, followed by 5 Lying Knee Tucks, then 5 Split-Squats, and so on – and then then I am finished?
Or do I do 5 sets of 5 repetitions of each of the 5 exercises? That is, do number 1 above and then repeat it 5 times?
Do I rest in between exercises? Or just in between sets?
I know these are really basic questions, but I’ve never really understood what 5×5 means.
