I don’t know the proper name for what I mean, therefore the maybe confusing title. I have trouble lifting my legs from the ground and holding them upright when I’m doing for example an elbow lever or try to hold a back lever or lifting my butt up for a tucked planch hold, like a backward leg raise. I guess it’s all the same problem, my lower back and maybe hamstrings too weak, sometimes I also have the feeling my body does not know which muscles to activate?

So, what I am looking for are exercises to get stronger in that regard, help is very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You can try superman holds or reverse back extensions, and once you get more comfortable you can try elbow lever back extensions! Besides that, bridging wouldn’t hurt.
